Migrate Cisco Unified CM to Zoom Phone

Vector reads your Unified CM cluster, maps it to Zoom Phone sites, users and call handling, then provisions Zoom Phone one group at a time and checks the result.

What Vector moves

Created on Zoom Phone from what the collector found on Unified CM.

Users
Enabled for Zoom Phone with their extension, and a calling plan and direct number where you assign one.
Sites
Unified CM locations become Zoom Phone sites.
Your own carrier's numbers
Numbers you keep with your carrier are imported for use with your session border controllers.
Call queues and call pickup
Hunt pilots become call queues with their members. Pickup groups carry over.
Auto receptionists
Built with business hours, the menu and the greeting audio.
Common area phones and shared lines
Lobby and break-room phones, shared line groups, and delegation for manager and assistant pairs.

What needs a decision from you

Vector reports these before you schedule a cutover, so they are found by the project team and not by a user.

Call park
Call park is set up in the Zoom administration portal. Vector lists each park number with the steps.
Email domain
Your email domain must be verified with Zoom before users can be created.
Desk phones
Vector reports each phone and its owner. Check each model against Zoom's supported list and plan replacements.
Lines shared between named users
Vector produces the list of changes to make for each one.

How Vector connects

To the source
An on-site collector reads Cisco Unified CM and its voicemail system and produces a signed inventory. The collector only reads. Your Unified CM credentials stay on the collector and are not sent to Vector.
To Zoom Phone
You create a server-to-server app in your own Zoom account and give Vector its credentials for the project. Vector works through the Zoom Phone administration interfaces with the permissions you grant that app.

The steps, in order

After each group, Vector reads the result back from Zoom Phone and compares it with the plan. You can run the whole plan as a rehearsal that writes nothing.

A group can be removed in reverse order, and the removal is recorded with the original change.
